a Chef visits from the Farmers' Market Association.

Friday a chef from the Farmers’ Market Association visited Pioneer and demonstrated how to use a few simple ingredients to make a delicious soup.

My wife and I always love shopping for fresh produce at farmer’s markets. The Union City Farmers’ Market can be found all year round, every Saturday from 9am to 1pm at Alvarado/Chesar Chavez Park.

Cookin’ the Market is a program of cooking demonstrations in PCFMA’s farmers’ markets and other community events that show just how quick and easy it is to cook with fresh, locally-grown ingredients.

Cookin’ the Market emphasizes fresh and seasonal ingredients, healthy recipes, and easy preparations to demonstrate that anyone, regardless of time or talent, can cook fresh and nutritious foods that not only taste better, but are also better for you.

Check out our Upcoming Demonstrations page often to find out which market we will be cooking at next, and check our recipes page for great healthy recipes you can make with your fresh and healthy products from your local farmers’ market.
