Homework: Tuesday, September 29

in Homework

  1. Make a Beanie Baby Book about what students should do during Read to Someone. Illustrate it and make it beautiful
  2. Read 30+ minutes (Use your reading strategies, but you don’t need to turn anything in.)
  3. Subtraction w/s
  4. Multiplication w/s (Test Friday)

Here is a “rough draft” of the chart we finished in class today.

Here are the student responsibilities and agreements from the Read to Someone chart:

  • Get started right away
  • Stay in one spot the whole time
  • Read the whole time
  • Reading to their partners, not to other people
  • Take turns reading
  • Sit in EEKK position (Elbow to Elbow, Knee to Knee)
  • Check for Understanding
  • Use your reading strategies
  • Have good “bubble space” between other partners
  • Quiet, whispering to each other, so that no one but your partner can hear you.
  • Paying attention to their partners
  • Build stamina
