This is an excerpt of Room 18′s first Skype Chat. We Skyped with a young woman who is finishing up her teaching program at the University of Regina, Canada. We chatted with our guest for about 30 minutes. It was great fun! I have been wanting to do this with my students for a while and now that our network has been upgraded (kind of), I gave it a try. For the most part, it worked well.

I had an awesome time Skyping with the class! The students asked so many great questions- I was so excited to tell my colleagues all about it! I have been learning in my University classes the benefits and importance of integrating technology into teaching strategies and how technology can encourage learning beyond the four walls of a single classroom. You guys are some of the first students I actually sat down and Skyped with! It was great. And the song and questions made my day.
