I get it. But I was looking for a difference between a digits place and a digits value.

Great explanation. Very clear. My question is – during the explanation about the digits 0-9 you said they aren’t numbers, only digits. However, we can give a value to these digits and then aren’t they numbers? I am thinking about Preschool and Kindergarten students who are learning one to one correspondence. How would you explain that?

I think that it’s very simple for a student to understand about this difference.
